Twenty-two years ago, there was quite a stir in political circles. Hinamori Kazuo, the American ambassador to Japan, had wed the world famous model Maemi. A year later, with the pair somewhat settled down in Seattle, they welcomed Momo into the world. Another four years after that, due to some long-standing political grudge, Kazuo and Maemi were murdered. (Momo never learned the specifics, and she truly doesn't want to.) She had no living relatives, but a former mentor of Maemi's took Momo in, in addition to the other child she was already looking after. She and the other child, Hitsugaya, became fast friends... at least in Momo's mind. He called her a bed wetter, and she dubbed him 'little Shiro'. But aside from that and Hitsugaya's penchant for being grumpy, they had little in the way of differences.

Momo began attending school a year before Hitsugaya did, and as such, she made a few friends. Renji and Kira were their names, and they were inseparable though much of their time spent in the school system. She had little idea of what she would do after high school... until, in the spring before she was to graduate, she received a letter. Her parents had set aside separate accounts for an inheritance and a college fund, and she would gain access to them when she turned eighteen. With her guardian's help, she confirmed that it wasn't a hoax. Going to college would mean leaving her friends behind. Was it worth it?

The answer had been a firm 'no', up until she saw an interview on TV late one night. Aizen Sousuke was on the news for... something, but his words stirred her into action. She would do something with her life. She wasn't eloquent or assertive enough to be a politician, and she didn't think she was pretty enough to be a model... But most models worked for fashion designers, didn't they? And she liked taking pictures. Perhaps if she attended a college in the San Francisco area, she could one day meet Mister Sousuke and thank him for inspiring her.

She wasted no time in beginning to fill out applications, starting to collect them the very next morning when she woke up. She eventually decided on Mishima University, with a major in fashion design and a minor in photography. Instead of living at the dorms, she's using some of her inheritance to pay rent at Gotei Lofts... A two-bedroom place, with one being her dedicated sewing studio. She travels back home when she can to visit Grandma and Hitsugaya, though she almost regrets taking time away from furthering her dream.
